SRINAGAR, Jan 16: Ellaquai Dehati Bank Officers’ Association (EDBOA), Srinagar, has expressed serious concern over the instructions issued by the State Government that the migrants of the State shall open their accounts in J&K Bank only for the disbursement of the relief fund.
The issue was raised during a meeting of the association with customers, held here today. President of the association, MK Raina, said that earlier such instruction was issued for the Government employees of the State with regard to disbursement of salaries.
He wondered how such incubus orders are issued when all banks are governed by the Reserve Bank of India by laws and eventually belongs to the public sector undertakings and not the State Government undertakings.
Raina said that the State Government always demoralizes the morale of the rest of the financial institutions by issuing such discriminatory orders and thus posing problems to the public.
The meeting decided to take up the matter with the higher authorities and with other financial institutions in the State and hoped that the State Government will revert back the status.
