JAMMU, Jan 17: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has urged upon the State Governor N N Vohra to release 6 % DA in favour of employees and pensioners and also regularize the temporary workers engaged in various departments.
In a meeting of the EJAC held here under the chairmanship of Abdul Qayoom Wani, president EJAC the problems confronting employees of Jammu and Kashmir were discussed. The issues which have been put on priority included regularization of temporary employees, release of 6% DA in favour of State employees, revival of Public Sector Undertakings and SRO 43 in favour of public sector employees, removal of pay anomalies of all departments especially clerical cadre and abolition of screening test of ReTs, restoration of credibility of recognized Universities and release of pending salary to all employees and daily rated workers.
During the meeting Mr Wani stressed for unity among employees of all cadres and directed them to be ready for future struggle for restoration of employees rights, their dignity and honour. Mr Wani said that nobody be allowed to play with the sentiments of employees. He said that 60,000 temporary employees are facing a lot of problems for a long time and the issue needs to be solved with human heart. Delay in release of 6% DA in favour of State employees has become usual routine and this practice needs to be stopped. It needs personal intervention of Governor NN Vohra for the resolution.
Prominent among those who participated in the meeting included Amrik Singh, Ganesh Khajuria, Dr Manzoor, Rajinder Gupta, Mohd Rafiq Rather, Amar Nath, Manzoor Ahmad, Varinder Singh, Bashmir Ahmad, Mohd Younis Ganai, Feroz Ahmed, Jamait Ali Agha, Abdul Hamid, Ghulam Nabi Sofi, Suresh Singh, Kuldeep Verma and Anil Kumar.
