Youth protest, stop cross LoC bus

POONCH, Jan 18: Unem-ployed youth desirous to do LoC trade today held protest demonstration against District Administration Poonch and disrupted the movement of cross LoC bus for about 45 minutes here today.
The youth intended to do business  with the PoK counterparts and having floated new firms today came out on the road and started protest on Poonch-Chakan-da-Bagh road. They alleged that District Administration was denying registration of their firms despite several representations.
They alleged that old traders have maintained their monopoly and Administration was under their influence. They blocked the road and continued shouting slogans against the DC Poonch.  Later, SHO   and  Tehsildar  Poonch reached the spot. They gave two weeks time for the registration of their firms to the administration and suspended their  protest.  The bus remained struck at the site  for about  45 minutes.
Meanwhile,  33 passengers crossed over to that side (PoK) while 18 arrived here from the PoK side.  16 new visitors arrived here today while two were Indian returnees. Ten J&K residents crossed over to that side while 23 others were PoK residents who returned after their brief stay with their relatives here.
