SRINAGAR, Jan 18: Stres-sing on the need to  chalk out effective parking management mechanism to ease traffic  congestion, the Divisional Comm-issioner, Kashmir, Asgar Hassan Samoon today said that  adopting the concept of vertical parking and paid parking will  help in  smooth movement of traffic on the roads by taking scores of cars off from road sides.
The Divisional Comm-issioner said this while chairing a meeting  of officers from State Development Authority, Srinagar Municipal Corpor-ation, Road and Building, police, Government Press, ERA Kashmir and JKPCC Ltd.

He also emphasized the need to develop a mechanism to check idle parking and for providing paid parking facilities to the people. He said that this will also help to generate employment avenues for many.
