SRINAGAR, Jan 18: Army unit under the aegis of Chinar Corps, Victor Force and the Sector Headquarters organized chilai kalaan mela and a medical camp in Akad area of Anantnag district. The events were a part of Army Day celebrations under Sadhbhavna.
The Mela was inaugurated by GOC Victor Force, Major General Arvind Dutta, in presence of prominent dignitaries.
The highlights of the Mela were game stalls, eating joints and competitive games in different age groups.
A lucky draw was also organised for general public and attractive prizes were distributed among the winners.
A knowledge and guidance centre giving details of army recruitment rallies was also set up for the public.
On the occasion special aids were distributed among poor and needy people.
A walkathon by students of various schools was also carried out from Aishmuqam to Akad Park.
A medical camp was also organized, in which people from the Lidder valley got free check-ups by doctors of the Army.
