SRINAGAR, Jan 19: Police have arrested two persons over indulging in rumoring polio deaths, which triggered unprecedented panic and violence on Sunday, an official said here.
The two have been identified as Parvez Ahmad Sheikh of Chattlam village of Pampore in Pulwama district and Jehangir Ahmad Shiekh of Tarkewangan village of Shopian district.
Parvez was arrested and booked under FIR No 12/2016 U/S 505 (1) (b) 153 / yesterday while Jehangir was arrested today. Both the persons have been held for uploading fake and false news about the death of children due to polio vaccination.
