Addressing a function on the final day of SEIL tour programme of ABVP activists from North Eastern States here, he said the North Eastern States and J&K have a commonality in this regard as both the peripheral regions crave for peace and development.
Maintaining that peace and development are imperative for prosperity and better future, Dr Singh said without peace development is not possible while without development there will be unrest. He said while India is known for unity in diversity North East is know for diversity in diversity and still then this region is best example of co-existence.

While acknowledging the role of ABVP in nation building, he said the main objective of the organization is transformation of human beings. As BJP needs good people and they are always welcome in the party in comparison to other political parties which neither need good people nor are they given place in those parties because the leaders in such parties believe in dynastic politics, he added.
Referring to PM’s start up India movement, he stressed on creating conditions for making this scheme successful. “When I took over the charge of NE States every one was telling me do something to bring NE to mainstream India but no one talked of brining mainstream India near to NE’’, he added.
He said in various areas North East states are far ahead. In Mizoram literacy rate is 92 percent. The State is only second in literacy in country after Kerala. There are best professors in Delhi University and other universities of the country from NE region. In JNU there are 60 students from each of NE States, he added.
Dr Singh said it is an era of quality education and NE is not lagging behind in the same. Every effort is being made to provide better facilities to the students from NE studying in Delhi and other states of country and in Delhi alone three hostels have been constructed during his tenure.
Dr Sing while presenting a rosy picture of North Eastern states said that small state like Skim has growth rate of 28.8 percent which is more than India’s national growth rate.
He said under start up India scheme he has coined an idea of creating Venture Fund and organic farming can be best suitable schemes to be launched in North Easter states under start up India. He made it clear that the Government has to be youth centric if it wants to enforce its agenda. In this regard various steps were taken by Modi Government like abolishing of interviews, curtailing down of voluminous forms and self attestation certificates.
Addressing the function Dr Sriniwas national joint organizing secretary ABVP said that his organization believes in nationalism based development. It is not mere our slogan but inner feeling.
He said people know less about North East where the real India lives. While referring to recent Hyderabad episode the ABVP leader said he was saddened by it.  A situation is being created in the country that Dalits are subjected to atrocities by some vested elements just for their political gains.
He said the Hyderabad University scholar who committed suicide belonged to OBC category and not a Dalit while the ABVP student was also from OBC category.
He said the situation has taken critical turn after Yaqoob Menon’s hanging as some students tried to describe Menon as icon and any body who will try to make him a national icon ABVP will oppose.
He said ABVP is not for transformation of Government but transformation of society as a whole and the main objective of the SEIL tour is that ABVP wants to lay foundation of a great India.
