Governor rule in J&K unfortunate: Vakil

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Jan 22: Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today  termed the continuation of Governor’s rule in J&K State as unfortunate and undesirable.
In a press statement here today, Mr Vakil said that despite enjoying mandate of the electorate, BJP and PDP are disrespecting the sacred verdict. He expressed his concern over the fact that on the one hand some senior PDP leaders are putting forth new conditions for Government formation before BJP but on the other hand, other faction of PDP is denying the same while BJP is pinning hope for grabbing power in J&K once more at any cost.
He said both the parties are befooling the innocent people of the State and trying hard to protect unnatural alliance for vested interests only, which otherwise, failed to sustain contrary and divergent ideology of its partners.
The former Minister said that inexplicable delay in putting in place democratic and constitutional arrangement for governance system is not only resulting in weakening and demeaning of the established democratic institutions but has put the whole administrative setup in a state of confusion. He said grievances and problems of the masses have started to crop up due to unaccountable administrative machinery.
Mr Vakil said that both the alliance partners must clear their stand on Government formation without any delay and come forward with a final decision so that a governance system does not become victim of political ego.
Former minister also appealed the Governor to ensure that State administration gears up and concentrates upon the rehabilitation of flood affected families and mitigating the  genuine problems of the masses.
