JAMMU, Jan 22: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, Sanjeev Sareen, today expressed serious concern over non-availability of ration in Government ration depots and urged Governor NN Vohra to ensure regular supply of ration to the poor masses.
Addressing a press conference, he said, “What to talk about implementation of National Food Security Act in Jammu region, even the normal supply of ration items like sugar, rice and atta remains badly affected for months together due to which the common masses are facing great hardships”.
“Not only is the general public but the ration dealers also facing trouble, as despite depositing the ration amount in advance, the Department is not providing ration supply and the dealers have to face public wrath due to non availability of ration in their ration depots”, Sareen said.
He said that poor people who are hand to mouth ands fully dependent on ration supply, are being forced to purchase the ration from open market at exorbitant rates or are starving, in the absence of proper ration supply.
