JAMMU, Jan 22: Police rescued two bovine animals and arrested a person from Gadigarh area, falling under the jurisdiction of Satwari police station.
As per police sources, a police team signaled a Tata Mahindra vehicle bearing registration number JK02BG-9185 coming from RS Pura to Jammu to stop for checking at Gadigarh.
On seeing police team, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police rescued 2 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested a person, while his associate managed to escape from the spot.
The arrested accused has been identified as Mohammad Rafi, son of Mohammad Shabir, a resident of Phalain Mandal.
A case under FIR Number 16/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Satwari and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Satwari police station Inspector Manjeet Singh and Incharge Gadigarh police post SI Shokat Khan made the arrest under supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta, SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
