POONCH, Jan 22: Provincial Youth National Conference President and former MLA Poonch Ajaz Jan has expressed concern over the shortage of medicines and doctors in the Sub District Hospital, Mandi.
After visiting the hospital along with party workers, Mr Jan said that health-care being most pivotal service, especially in hilly areas and during the current hilly months, needs priority attention. He hoped that the Governor’s administration will look to this aspect earnestly, as the PDP-BJP dispensation failed in meeting the aspirations of the people in all the sectors.
He made a reference of the CT Scan machine, procured in 2014, and said this has become non-productive due to absence of technicians and specialized doctors.
Later, the NC leader visited Bedar Panchayat, where the people apprised him of their problems like erratic power and drinking water supply, scarcity of rations and restoration of road network which was severely damaged due to last year’s floods. He interacted with the locals and assured them that their problems will be taken up at appropriate levels for early redressal.
Mr Jan expressed anguish over developmental-paralysis across the state, especially its remote pockets during the PDP-BJP dispensation and hoped that the Governor’s administration will give due attention to the completion of projects launched during the Omar Abdullah led government.
