C-BYTE helping border youth in recruitment

JAMMU, Jan 23: Within only 24 days of its inception, the Centres for Border Youth Training and Empowerment (C-BYTE) being run by district administration Jammu for training the border youth for recruitment into security forces has started showing results as 32 out of the 39 boys, who participated in the physical tests of J&K Police and ITBP recruitment, have qualified the first hurdle.
Thirty seven candidates belonging to 6 centres had participated in the Police rally, out of which 30 have cleared the Physical and Basic Medical Tests. Two candidates have qualified the ITBP test.
All the seven candidates of Arnia centre, 10 out of 12 candidates of Suchetgarh/RS Pura centre, 4 out of 5 candidates of Mandal centre, 4 out of 6 candidates of Marh centre, 2 out of 3 candidates of Pargwal centre and 6 out of 7 candidates of Khour centre have cleared the test.
It is pertinent to mention here that the State Government had approved a project submitted by the Jammu district administration for running six centres in Arnia, Suchetgarh, Mandal, Marh, Khour and Pargwal in December, 2015 under Skill Development of BADP for training the border youth for entry into forces.
The centres had started functioning from 1st January 2016 and are currently training 250 border youth in physical and academic standards required for recruitment in Army, Police and Paramilitary forces.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh has complimented all the instructors of these centres for efficiently implementing the programme.
It is pertinent to mention here that retired army personnel are entrusted with the task of managing each centre.
