JAMMU, Jan 24: Today leaders of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations of Akhnoor Constituency held a meeting in which the activists from Ambaran, Badyalchack, Nud, Dhok Khalasa, Sungal More, Kot Ghari, Duskal, Manda, Gurha Talab, Khurd and from other area of Akhnoor participated.
The prominent among them were Sarpanchs, Panchs, contractors, farmers, retired .and serving employees. The participants raised the issue of caste discrimination and J&K HC verdict in which whole the reservation policy of the State is under scanner due to Article 370 as the Parliament Amendments favouring reservation has not been incorporated in the State Constitution.
While addressing the leaders meet R K Kalsotra, State president All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations said that “we are eagerly waiting for the formation of the new Government. As and when it forms Confederation will ghearo them and build pressure on them to adopt all Parliament amendments favouring downtrodden.
He further said “unity amongst us is the only reply towards the discrimination we have faced since 5000 years. He appealed the participants to go to villages, hold awareness camp as education and reservation is needed to us and we have to fight with the Govt. to save it. Sarpanch Jagdish Raj, Panch Subash Chandler,Chairman Des Raj, Mohan Lal, Gourd Ram & Kamal Bhagat assured Kalsotra to spread his message in the villages and we further assure to reach Jammu in thousands on Confederation call to save the reservation rights.
Other prominent who attended were Vijay Kumar, Parshotam Lal, China Lal Mangotra, Bodh Raj & Ramesh Lal.
