Various social, trade, cultural associations celebrate Republic Day

JAMMU, Jan 25: On Republic Day, Bar Association Samba led by its president, Advocate Mohinder Singh held a meeting to remember the supreme sacrifice of our freedom fighters and intellectuals, who blessed us with the best system of orderly life in the world. The Bar members pledged to live in and uphold the majesty of Indian Constitution.
In connection with Republic Day, Lalded Women Welfare Society, Bari Brahmana, organized a nukkad play based on the theme of Republic Day. Written, composed and directed by Naveen Pal, the play educated the spectators about the importance of the Republic Day and as well as our Constitution. The artists who took part in the play were Naveen Pal, Arjun Singh, Rinku Verma, Dimple Kundal, etc.
At a function held here today, Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association (JKBWA) celebrated 67th Republic Day with tremendous enthusiasm and fervour. Most of the attendees were Government employees and retired defence personnel. JKBWA president and Ex- MLA, Sat Paul Lakhotra along with chairman, JKBWA, Romesh Sargotra, unfurled the National Flag. On the occasion, the community members pledged to work for the unity and integrity of the country with dedication.
Fortune Inn Riviera celebrated Republic Day by unfurling the National Flag and singing the National Anthem in its premises. The patriotic songs were played and hotel guests and staff were served sweets and refreshment. Also, lunch was arranged for all hotel staff as a mark of celebration. On the occasion, the hotel offered the guests and patrons celebrating the Republic Day at Fortune Inn Riviera to pay only 67% of their bill at all their restaurants.
