Three injured in two separate assault cases

JAMMU, Jan 27: Three persons including a security guard of a shopping complex were injured in two separate assault cases in outskirts of this winter capital of the State.
According to a police spokesperson, a youth Mohd Younis (20) son of Mohd Iqbal, a resident of Nagrota Byepass got serious while his accomplice Mohd Yaqoob (20) son of Mohd Maqbool received minor injuries when they were attacked by lathies and then by a sharp edged weapon by the members of a neighbour hood family over some old payment issue.
Both the injured were immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, for treatment, where their condition was stated to be stable.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections and after recording the statements of the injured youths started efforts to nab the accused persons who have been identified as Fareed, Mohd Ashiq, Ghulam Nabi, Ashraf Ali and Mohd Javed. All the accused were on large.
Meanwhile, at Wave Mall in Narwal area of city outskirts, a security guard was attacked by a sharp edged weapon by one of the three youths, who refused routine checking by the guard while entering into the Mall. In the attack, the guard received minor injuries on his head. He was shifted to Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar from where he was discharged after first aid.
In this connection, a case FIR No 17/16 under Section 341/323/RPC 4/25 Arms Act was registered at police station Trikuta Nagar and two of the three accused were arrested.
The arrest was made by a police team led by SI Mehmood Khan, Incharge police post Narwal, under the supervision of SHO Trikuta Nagar, Kuldeep Khajuria, SP South, Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu, Uttam Chand.
