NEW DELHI: Bollywood actor Salman Khan today filed a caveat in the Supreme Court in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case in which he was acquitted by the Bombay High Court.
The caveat was filed in the Apex Court registry, which would likely to come up for hearing in a week’s time. Caveat signifies a process in which the court could not pass any order without hearing the side of Khan.
The Bombay HC had last year acquitted Khan in the case citing that the prosecution had failed in its duty to prove the charges against the actor. The Maharashtra government had decided to challenge the Bombay HC order in the Apex Court. It, however, has not yet filed the appeal. (AGENCIES)
