JAMMU, Jan 29: Taking strong note of misuse of Government funds, meant for execution of various developmental works at Block Level, allegedly by some officials of Rural Development Department at Block Marmat, Tehsil and Distt Doda, the State Vigilance Commission has summoned Additional Deputy Commissioner, Doda.
Earlier, on a complaint with specific allegations levelled by one Ramesh Kumar of Paryote (Doda), regarding drawl of huge payments from Government Exchequer from time to time against non-existing and fictitious works during the financial year, 2011-2012 in Panchayat Halqa Paryot-B, Block Marmat, by a Village Level Worker (VLW), the SVC had directed Additional Deputy Commissioner, Doda (DVO), for an on spot enquiry and submission of status report thereof before the Commission.
Despite, several notices issued to the Deputy Commissioner, Doda, as well as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Doda, for submission of status report in the matter, they didn’t bother to hold an enquiry nor submitted the requisite report thereof before the Commission. Instead, they sought adjournments and exemptions from appearance without justifiable reasons, which prima-facie exhibits non-serious approach of said officers, amounting to deliberate shielding of corrupt elements working in their jurisdiction.
The SVC while taking serious note of the issue and dishonouring of orders passed by the Commission, directed the Deputy Commissioner, Doda, to ensure presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Doda (DVO), before the Commission on 19.02.2016 along with the requisite report including reply to a show cause notice already issued to him by the Commission.
