JAMMU, Jan 29: Samooh Theatre organized a function at Abhinav Theatre wherein a Dogri book namely ‘Beth Proche Geet Raseela’ by Dr Neelam Sareen was released here today.
On the occasion, Ramesh Arora, MLC, was the chief guest while ND Jamwal, a versatile Dogri writer presided over the function. Priya Sethi, Former Minister, Dr Aziz Hajani, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Prof Lalit Magotra graced the occasion as guest of honours.
Ajat Shatru said that, it is his pleasure to be the part of this kind of literary function and assured his help for the promotion of Dogra culture and languages.
Priya Sethi, Ramesh Arora, Dr Aziz Hajni and Prof Lalit Magotra put stress on the promotion and preservation of Dogri culture through various medium especially by using the electronic medium besides introduces Dogri in school level.
ND Jamwal said that very few book have been written on the subject which has been chosen by Dr Neelam Sareen. He stated that this will definitely enrich the Dogri literature and culture.
Dr Sunita Bhadwal, a prominent Dogri and Hindi scholar presented a detailed research paper on the book. She threw light on the matter included in book especially Dogra intangible culture and heritage.
Earlier, Dr Sudhir Mahajan presented the welcome address, whereas in the end, Dr Kamal Sharma, President Samooh Theatre presented vote of thanks.
Among others present were Mohan Singh, Baljeet Raina, Puran Chand Badgotra, Nirmal Vikram, etc.
