JAMMU, Jan 29: High Court has restrained the State from acting on the Government Order No.631-Edu dated December 29, 2015 prescribing screening test for the Rehbar-e-Taleems (ReTs).
The order was passed in a petition filed by 388 ReTs challenging the Government order of December 29, 2015.
After hearing Advocate SK Shukla appearing for the petitioners whereas Advocate Ravinder Gupta appearing for the State, Vacation Judge, Justice B S Walia ordered that operation of order No.631-Edu of 2015 dated 29.12.2015 impugned in the petition shall not be acted upon with respect to the 388 petitioners.
During the course of arguments, Advocate Shukla submitted that the screening test ordered for ReTs/RReTs working in the School Education Department is not applicable in the case of the petitioners on account of the fact that the test has been ordered only in respect of those candidates who had obtained their basic qualification for appointment to the posts from unauthorized and un-recognized study centres.
“The categorical stand of the petitioners is of their having been obtained basic eligibility qualification from UGC/recognized institutes, therefore, the petitioners are not required to participate in the screening test”, he further submitted.
