NEW DELHI, Jan 30: Freight rates for the nine-tonne pay load section rose by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following thin availability of trucks against increased cargo movements.
Transporters said shortage of trucks against pick up in cargo movements, mainly pushed up freight rates for select destinations.
Delhi to Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram freight rates went up by Rs 1,000 each at Rs 72,000 and Rs 79,000.
Rates to Puducherry and Coimabtore also moved up by Rs 1000 each to Rs 66,000 and Rs 69,000.
