These projects, he said, are in addition to allocations already made for the district for projects like setting up of a modern Dental Section in the District Hospital. The proposal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, announced for Reasi, earlier is also being processed and the land has been identified for the purpose, he said.
Giving a breakup of the allocations made today, Dr Jitendra Singh said, Rs. 50 lakh will be spent on constructing one-room apartments for flood affected villagers of Seri-Tanda. Another Rs. 10 lakh will be allocated from MP-LAD fund for building foot bridges in rural areas of the district on the same pattern as similar work has been undertaken in the neighboring district of Udhampur, he added.
Similarly, Dr Jitendra Singh said, an amount of over Rs. 25 lakh has been allocated for building of road from Kadmal to Ashram in Katra and out of this, Rs. 17.50 lakh has already been released. Another amount of Rs. 10 lakh has already been released in favour of Deputy Commissioner, Reasi to complete the construction of the “War Memorial Park” being brought up opposite the District Collectorate office.
While Udhampur and Kathua districts will achieve 100% rural electrification target under “Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana” (DDUGJY) by March 2017, Dr Jitendra Singh said, Deputy Commissioner Reasi is also undertaking a fast-track plan to achieve these targets as early as possible.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, the work on widening of road between Katra and Reasi has already been expedited. For the proposed Delhi-Amritsar-Katra express corridor road, which will be the longest express way in the country, tendering for survey is in process. Referring to the recent controversy regarding the “Electric Car Service” enroute to Vaishno Devi Shrine, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the Governor has taken a sympathetic view and has assured that stakeholders will be kept on board on the issue.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, one of the most historic achievements from the point of view of District Reasi was the decision at the Union Cabinet meeting presided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to increase the relief available to the Jammu region migrants from hilly areas at par with that being paid to the Kashmiri Pandit displaced persons. In an unprecedented decision, a four-time hike has been made from Rs. 400 to Rs. 1600 per person and a cost of Rs. 13.5 crore per annum would be borne by the Central Government, he disclosed.
During the last one and a half year, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Dr Jitendra Singh said, a number of public welfare schemes, particularly aimed at upliftment of farmers and weaker sections, have been introduced and he is personally monitoring the progress of these schemes in each of the districts falling under his Parliamentary Constituency through a constant touch with the respective Deputy Commissioners. Like other districts, “Jan Dhan Yojana” targets of opening account without balance have also recorded an appreciable progress.
Dr Jitendra Singh appealed to people of Reasi to make the best use of welfare schemes like “Mudra Yojana” and the recently announced “Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana”.
He called upon the BJP Karyakartas to begin a campaign for Mudra Yojana which will not only give them an opportunity to identify the most needed genuine persons who deserve a loan without mortgage, but also enable them to raise their leadership profile in their respective areas of activity.
Sat Sharma, CA, State BJP President while speaking on the occasion enumerated the various Central Schemes which had been implemented by the Central Government. He made a particular mention of schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Jeevan Bima Yojana and Kissan Fasal Yojana.
