JAMMU, Jan 30: Sub Judge, JMIC Katra Sandeep Gandotra, under the guidance of Kikar Singh Parihar, Chairman District Legal Services Authority Reasi held a legal awareness camp at Panchayat Ghar, Bhagta today.
Sub Judge Katra along with Bar President Katra D K Kapoor and Vice President Rashi Baru addressed the participants along with retainer lawyer Raj Kumar. The senior citizens were made aware of their right to maintenance under CrPC.
They were also apprised about Hindu Maintenance and Adoption Act, Legal Services Authorities Act, Income Tax Act and various concessions given to senior citizens by railways, airlines, banks and under many schemes of Social Welfare Department.
Many rights of women under Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act were also spoken about. The participants were also explained about the benefits and services which they can avail from retainer lawyers and para legal volunteers.
The camp was attended by Advocates Sukhdev, Venus Sambyal, Sarpanch Bhagta, Numberdar Bhagta Panch Bhagta and local people including women, children and elderly persons.
