LOS ANGELES, Jan 31: Singer John Legend will produce his first off-Broadway comedy show “3 Mics”, which is written and performed by comedian Neal Brennan.
The 37-year-old singer is joined by his Get Lifted Film partners Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius, reported Ace Showbiz.
Directed by Drew Barr, the comedy will begin its run at the Lynn Redgrave Theater from February 23 to March 3 with tickets starting at USD 30.
In the comedy, Neal demonstrates how to craft the perfect jokes. “It has moments that stay with you forever,” said comic John Mulaney.
“To be on Broadway is a dream come true,” Neal quipped, before realizing the theater’s on Bleecker Street.
John’s foray into theater was preceded by other singer-songwriters turning their attention to the stage, including Sara Bareilles, Thom Yorke, Sting, Cyndi Lauper, Sheryl Crow, John Mellencamp and David Byrne. (PTI)
