JAMMU, Jan 31: In a petition filed by Devinder Pal Singh challenging the Government order whereby Atul Sharma was placed as Managing Director J&K Cements, Vacation Judge of High Court, Justice BS Walia has issued notice to Commissioner/ Secretary, Industries, Commissioner/ Secretary General Administration Department and others returnable before second week of February.
In the meanwhile, the High Court has directed that the present position of General Manager SICOP shall not be affected and the official respondents shall not confirm the arrangement of Atul Sharma looking after the work of Managing Director J&K Cements Limited.
The petitioner challenging the legality and validity of the impugned Government Order No. 01-IND of 2016 dated 02-01-2016 passed by the State, submitted that the authorities in utter haste and without application of the prudent mind have placed Atul Sharma as Managing Director J&K Cements with the oblique motive to accord undue benefit to him in breach to rules governing the field which will harshly and severely prejudice the seniority and service prospects of the petitioner.
