JAMMU, Jan 31: Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department held a campaign to create awareness among people, today about the importance of oil and gas to make the future of country secure.
On the occasion, G S Chib, CAPD, Director Jammu spoke at the valedictory function of oil and gas conservation fortnight 2016 (OGCF) organized by oil industry.
Director said that main objective of celebrating this fortnight is to create awareness about fuel savings tips during day to day activities. He said that the consumption of fuel like oil and gas used in human activity including transport, industries, agriculture and households can be reduced to large extent if these tips are followed by the consumers. He stressed on achieving the goal by launching mass awareness campaign in urban as well as rural areas.
State level coordinator of oil companies in Jammu and Kashmir, Hari Anupam threw light on aims and objective of celebrating of oil and gas conservation fortnight.
Senior Regional Manager Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) Manish Tandon briefed about the activities during the fortnight. He said that various events aimed at creating mass awareness about conserving petroleum products were organized during fortnight.
Later, the Director distributed mementoes among the students who took part in various activities during fortnight long celebrations.
