Singla is Spl Secy Internal Security

NEW DELHI, Feb 2:
In the backdrop of increasing threat to the national security, especially from the growing and globalising terror networks and radicalisation, the Home Ministry has moved to fill the post of Special Secretary (Internal Security) and has appointed Additional Director Genenral (BSF) M K Singla to the position.
The post had fallen vacant after the incumbent Special Secretary (Internal Security) Ashok Prasad was promoted as Secretary in April last year and subsequently retired. The Home Ministry so far had only four Joint Secretary level bureaucrats in this division – two Joint Secretaries for Internal Security and one each for the North East and Jammu & Kashmir.
The organisational structure of other divisions such as border management, Centre-State relations, and Left-wing extremism already have the Secretary level oversight.
The Ministry also formally announced several DG level appointments in the paramilitary forces today. Rajasthan cadre 1982 batch IPS officer and the Additional DG of BSF  K K Sharma has been made the DG of the force.
Telangana cadre 1981 batch IPS officer and Special DG of CRPF K Durga Prasad has been made DG of the force.
Tamil Nadu cadre 1980 batch IPS officer and Driector General of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) Archana Ramasundaram has been shifted to the Sashastra Seema Bal as Director General.
Bihar cadre 1981 batch IPS officer and Special DG Bureau of Police Research and Development A R K Kinni will take over as DG of NCRB. (UNI)
