JAMMU, Sept 8: Three persons were killed and two others sustained injuries in two separate road accidents on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Police spokesman said that two persons were killed when a ration loaded truck plunged into nullah at Battery Chashma under the jurisdiction of Ramban Police Station late last night. The ill-fated vehicle was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar when met with accident.
On the receipt of information about the accident, a police party from Ramban Police Station rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. Later, both the critically injured occupants of the truck were brought out the gorge and shifted to District Hospital where doctors pronounced them as brought dead.
The deceased have been identified as Jasbir Singh, son of Bhajan Singh of Bishnah and Surinder Singh, son of Uttam Singh of Kunjwani.
Meanwhile, one person was killed and two others including the son of deceased sustained injuries after Xylo vehicle bearing registration number JK09-6663 skidded off the road and plunged into 150 feet deep gorge at University Morh under the jurisdiction of Jhajjar Kotli Police Station.
The ill-fated vehicle was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar when it met with accident due to the negligence of the driver.
The deceased has been identified as Khalil-ur-Rehman, son of Aziz-ur-Rehman of Lar, Ganderbal while as identity of injured has been established as driver of the vehicle Fayaz Ahmed Sofi, son of Mohd Suban Sofi of Kupwara and Tasaduq Hussain, son of deceased.
The condition of both the injured was stated to be out of danger when reports last came in.
