The local public also took out rally at the village and blocked National Highway at Moud in support of their demands. They alleged that local youth are being ignored by the company management in providing employment, moreover, famers whose land has been acquired for construction of 4-lane highway ahead of Udhamnpur have not been paid compensation. Same is the complaint of the people residing between Udhampur and Chenani.
Mr Mankotia blamed M/s Gammon India Pvt Ltd for construction of their office forcibly at village Moud on private land without the consent of the land owners in connivance with some officials in local administration. He further said that the company had allotted work to the contractors from Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab etc instead of local contractors of the said area who were blatantly ignored and as such they had only option to start strong agitation against the company.
