JAMMU, Feb 9: National Service Scheme, Campus Units, University of Jammu organised a two day workshop today on the theme “Environment and Sustainable Development”, in which more than 100 NSS volunteers from various colleges and University departments participated.
Prof Poonam Dhawan, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu inaugurated the workshop and focused on the role of NSS in nation building and motivated the young NSS volunteers to take forward the message of sustainable environment.
Prof Jasbir Singh, Chairman, NSS Campus Units, University of Jammu presented the welcome address and highlighted the need for such a workshop.
Dr Vishav Raksha, Programme Coordinator, NSS in her address emphasised on the value of environment to be inculcated in the NSS volunteers.
Prof Arvind Jasrotia and Dr Shashi Prabha from University of Jammu were the resource persons for the first day.
Dr Hema Gandotra, Convenor of the workshop presented vote of thanks.
Shakun Sharma conducted the programme and the sessions.
Dr Anju Thappa and Dr Seema Rohmetra were also present among others.
