Bovines smuggling bid foiled, 6 arrested

JAMMU, Feb 9: Nagrota police foiled bovines smuggling bid by arresting six persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota police station laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AL-2983, Mahindra bearing temporary number JMU-6059 and Tata Mobile having registration number JK02AN-0766.
During checking, police rescued 17 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested six persons on the spot.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Hanief, son of Mohammad Rashid of Ragoora, Sidhra, Abdul Hamid, son of Mohammad Shafi of Talab Tillo Camp, Gole Gujral, Roshan Din, son of Bashir Ahmed of Vijaypur, Nazam Ali, son of Dilawer Ali, Ghulam Ali, son of Noora and Faryad Ahmed, son of Manzoor Ahmed, trio residents of Chanderkot, District Ramban.
They were trying to smuggle the bovines to Valley, but their bid was foiled by the active cops of Nagrota police.
A case under FIR Number 36/16 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Karan Chalotra made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma, SP Rural Rajiv Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
