JAMMU, Feb 9: A meeting of Shopkeepers Association, General Bus Stand, Jammu was held here today under the guidance of Working Committee members.
In the meeting the minutes of Steering Committee meeting held on January 23 this year on modernization and development of General Bus Stand cum multi level car parking cum commercial complex were discussed.
The meeting denied that any agreement has been reached with Shopkeepers Association in this regard as claimed by JDA/ Steering Committee.
The meeting said the Association had agreed the allotment of shop sites at ISBT Narwal Jammu with floor/roof rights with the JDA but the authorities of JDA have now taken a U turn and they are not accepting the genuine demands of the shopkeepers to allot the shop sites with floor /roof rights which JDA had earlier promised and agreed to in the previous meetings.
The Association has condemned the act of JDA / Steering Committee and urged the Steering Committee to look into the matter as JDA authorities have always promised that the Bus Stand shopkeepers will be rehabilitated on the same pattern as the displaced shopkeepers of ware house were rehabilitated.
The meeting said that though the Association is fully cooperating with the Government it is the JDA which is playing with the livelihood of 1000 families.
The meeting among others was attended by Satish Gupta, Rajneesh Gupta, Sunil Puri, Om Parkash, Ajay Sood, Pardeep Kapoor, Anchal Singh and Amarjeet Singh.
