4 Rajputana Rifles organizes blood donation camp

JAMMU, Feb 11: 4 Rajputana Rifles of 162 Brigade organized a voluntary blood donation camp on the eve of Keren Day at Miran Sabib, Jammu.
The camp was organized in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Region Jammu, Department of Blood Transfusion, Government Medical College and J&K State Aids Control Society.
Col Adarsh Bhandari, Commanding Officer, 4 Rajputana Rifles, inaugurated the blood donation camp. Besides 60 Jawans including Deputy Commandant of the Brigade, Col Bhandari also donated blood during the Camp.
Highlighting the importance of blood donation, Col Bhandari said it is a great service to the mankind and everyone should donate blood voluntarily as many times as possible to save the human lives. He appealed the Jawans to come forward and join this humanitarian cause by donating blood in future also.
The Red Cross team was headed by its Secretary, RC Puri assisted by Navneet Kour, Member, Executive Committee, IRCS, Region Jammu and Vardhman Jain. The Blood Bank team was headed by Dr Nazia supported by other doctors and para medical staff.
RC Puri also spoke on the occasion about the importance of blood donation.
The camp was coordinated under the leadership of Maj Vikas Kumar.
