JAMMU: Security forces today busted a militant hideout and recovered cache of arms and ammunition including grenades and pistols in Ramban district.
“The troops of Rashtriya Rifles battalion based at Banihal under Delta Force alongwith police busted a militant hideout in the dense forest of Bajpathri area of Banihal tehsil and recovered huge quantity of arms, ammunition and other war like stores,” Defence spokespeson here said.
He said the joint operation by troops launched the search operation this morning and recovered arms and ammunition from the hideout which included three Pistols with magazines, 2042 rounds of AK 47, 25 rounds of Sniper rifle, five hand grenades, five magazines of AK-47, two radio sets, one weapon sight and other sustenance stores.
“The hideout is believed to be of militants who have been killed in the past by Security Forces,” he added. (AGENCIES)
