Ex-servicemen rally organized

Kulgam, Sept 9: In an effort to reach out to the Ex-Servicemen of South Kashmir, 62 Rashtriya Rifles conducted an Ex-Servicemen rally at Behibagh, Kulgam under the aegis of Headquarters 2 Sector Rashtriya Rifles that was attended by Ex-servicemen from Anantnag, Kulgam and Shopian districts.
The aim of the rally was to address the issues of Ex-Servicemen including redressal of their grievances, benefits of ECHS (Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme),  and 6th Pay Commission emoluments and spreading awareness about the schemes offered by the State/Central Government.  21 Veer Naris & 91 Ex-Servicemen attended the rally.
Various counters were established address the grievances and problems of Ex-servicemen and to disseminate latest information on various policies of State and Central Governments affecting the Ex-servicemen.
These counters included ECHS counter, Record Office JAK LI Regimental Centre Counter, DPDO (Defence Pension Disbursing Officer) counter, District Soldier Welfare Board Counter, Bank counter, Project Himayat/Udaan counter for ESM/ Youth and from the Civil Administration. Representatives of all the agencies were present on the occasion and helped the Ex-servicemen in resolving their problems.
All Ex-servicemen were also provided with Medical and CSD facilities.  Gifts were presented to the Veer Naris and Veterans on this occasion.
The response to the rally was healthy and Ex-Servicemen from various arms and services attended the rally and were satisfied with the recommendations/guidance provided by the various agencies.
