14 year-old boy kills father in Anantnag

SRINAGAR, Feb 13: Police today said it have solved the blind murder case of a man, who was an Imam, in Dooru area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district by arresting his 14-year old son who it said to killed his father over strained relation between the deceased and his wife.
A police spokesman said Abdul Hamid Malik, who was a resident of Bragam village of Dooru, was killed on 9th of this month in the paddy field at Marg Bragam. “In this regard, a case under FIR number 15/2016 under Section 302 RPC was registered in police station Dooru and investigation was taken up,” he said.
The spokesman said during the course of investigation, it surfaced that deceased along with his son namely Mohsin Hamid Malik, a class 7th student left towards the fields on February 9 at about 10:00 am.
“Both worked in the field for about 2 ½ hours and finally had lunch together. The son finished his meals first and took an axe which was already there and hit it thrice on his father’s neck. The deceased was busy in taking meals. This resulted in his on spot death. The son then dragged the body and covered it with soil,” said the police spokesman.
“Later on, the son took the weapon of offence with him and hid it in the cowshed adjacent to his house. On disclosure of the accused son, weapon of offence has been recovered in presence of witnesses,” he said, adding: “The motive behind the murder was strained relationship between husband and wife.”
