SRINAGAR, Feb 13: Fourteen kilometers long Malangpora-Sangam road in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district is in shambles from past 12 years but the concerned officials have not repaired even once, local residents said today.
The residents told Excelsior that the road has developed potholes due to accumulation of drainage water as there is proper drainage system. They said the road last time was macadamized in year 2003 and since then no repair work or black topping has been done.
“Due to bad condition of the road people face lot of inconvenience. Not only commuters travelling in vehicles but pedestrians too face extreme difficulties,” said a local resident Muhammad Younis.
The residents expressed dismay over the alleged refusal of officials to macadamize the road. “When we approach them they say the road is in plan but this plan was never executed and they in a way refuse to repair it,” they alleged.
