Two make abortive attempt on life

JAMMU, Feb 13: A youth made an abortive attempt on his life by cutting his throat in Nanak Nagar area of city outskirts while a woman consumed poison here at Peer Mitha.
According to a police spokesperson, a youth identified as Paramjeet Singh Prabhakar (26), a resident of Patna (Bihar), at present living in Nanak Nagar area of city outskirts, allegedly tried to end his life by cutting his throat with a sharp edged weapon.
He was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where his condition was stated to be stable till the last reports came in.
Meanwhile, a woman identified as Arifa (30) wife of Mushtaq, a resident of Mastgarh (Peer Mitha), Jammu, made a vain attempt to end her life by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence. She was shifted to GMCH for treatment.
In both cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
