JAMMU, Sept 9: Supreme Court will hear the suo moto writ petition on deaths of Shri Amarnath pilgrims on September 17 instead of September 10.
A bench of Supreme Court comprising Justice B S Chauhan and Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar issued an order in this regard after hearing counsels for the respondents.
“The matter has been mentioned by Vernika Tomar, counsel on behalf of State of Jammu and Kashmir and it is pointed out that the matter is listed on September 10, 2012 before this Bench. As the matter has been heard substantially by a different combination—Dr Justice B S Chauhan and Justice Swatanter Kumar, it is desirable that the matter may be listed on September 17 at 2 pm before the same bench”, the Supreme Court said in the order.
“In the meantime, parties are at liberty to file additional document, affidavit or report for compliance”, the order said.
