*Ganai seeks early release of J&K’s balance funds

JAMMU, Feb 14: Joint Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, (MoRD), Government of India, Atal Dulloo today called on Advisor to Governor, Khursheed Ahmed Ganai to discuss J&K’s pending issues with the Union Ministry in Rural Development Sector.
Mr Ganai also raised with the Joint Secretary the issue of release of balance funds in Centrally Sponsored flagship projects and schemes in the rural development sector.
The Advisor stressed the need for early release of balance funds for the financial years 2014-15 and 2015-16 especially related to MGNREGA and IAY so that implementation of these centrally sponsored flagship schemes is expedited in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr Ganai also handed over a check-list of pending issues of J&K’s rural development sector to the Union Joint Secretary and stressed the need for the redress of the same at the earliest, so that the centrally sponsored flagship programmes could be implemented in the State without any impediments.
He stressed upon the concerned authority to make all out efforts for implementing all centrally sponsored flagship programmes in J&K in a time bound manner, so that the benefits percolate to the grassroots level at the earliest.
Atal Dulloo assured the Advisor of Union Ministry’s full support in completing all the ongoing projects and release to the balance funds to keep the momentum of development apace in the rural areas of the State.
Secretary, Rural Develop-ment Department, Mr. Khurs-heed Ahmed Shah was also present on the occasion.
