JAMMU, Feb 15: Serving an ultimatum, SKUAST – Jammu Non-Teaching Employees Association (NTEA) has demanded removal of  the incumbent  Registrar and others for having been booked by the State Vigilance Organization (SVO) in alleged illegal and fake appointments.
Addressing a press conference, here today, the NTEA president B N Singh lambasted the administration for allowing the booked officers to continue on the posts on which they have committed the illegal act. He demanded that all the persons booked by the SVO should immediately be removed from the posts held to allow free and fair criminal investigation.
While giving reference of the media reports on 12-02-2016 about booking of   former Vice Chancellor, Registrar and  others under  FIR  2/2016  under  Section 5(1) (d) read with 5(2) J&K  PC  Act Sections 120-B,468,471 and 201 RPC on the prima facie establishment of offences, Singh recalled that the Association  had in August 2015 called off  its strike on the assurance given by the  Vice Chancellor that the incumbent Registrar  would be removed to save the university but unfortunately no action was taken thereafter.
“We appeal to the  Governor, who is Chancellor of  the university,  for necessary instruction to Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu that such elements should immediately be relieved  from the respective positions,” he said and reiterated the demand that  the Post of Registrar may be filled from IAS or Senior most KAS Officer on deputation basis to streamline administrative structure of institution and to defeat the incompetent and corrupt system developed  in the registry since 2010.
Mr Singh also threatened that the Association would  go on agitation if the demand of removal of tainted officers is not  met  within week’s time.
