New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a meeting of major Opposition parties ahead of the crucial Budget session of Parliament beginning February 23. Sources said the meeting was aimed at seeking the Opposition’s support in smooth running of Parliament and consensus over some crucial legislations like the GST Bill which cannot be passed without the Congress’ cooperation in the Upper House. The meeting was attended by leaders of major political parties in both Houses of Parliament. Besides issues relating to the Parliament session, it is understood that some current political developments might have also figured in the meeting. (Agencies)
