JAMMU, Feb 16: State Government Employees Joint Action Committee (SGEJAC), has resolved to gear up for agitation in support of the pending demands of the employees and other temporary workers.
In a joint press conference of the SGEJAC held here today, senior leaders Sushil Sudan, Suresh Sharma and Subash Verma strongly criticized the Government for its delaying tactics for addressing the long pending issues of the employees. They pointed out that despite struggle for the last several years, the Government has failed to resolve the pending issues of the workers.
They asserted that cooperative and silent attitude of the SGEJAC may not be construed as weakness of the employees. They have already given enough time to the Administration to act upon the issues raised by the employees bodies. The Govt must avoid to test the patience of the employees. Now, it is time to deliver and take decisions.
These leaders also criticized the half hearted approach of the Principal/ Secretary Finance in finalising the mediclaim policy of the employees by confining the invitation of suggestions from the Secretariat Employees Union only. They urged upon the Govt to resolve demands like release of 6 % DA, removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre, regularization of daily rated/ temporary workers, enhancement of medical allowance to Rs 3000 per month, holding of DPCs in time, setting up committee for 7th Pay Commission report to avoid confrontation, sanction of dislocation allowance to employees working away from home places and budgetary support to PSUs.
They appealed the Governor N N Vohra to personally intervene in solving the pending issues of the employees and workers without any further delay. They decided to hold massive protest outside Raj Bhawan on March 9, if Govt failed to resolve their issues within two weeks.
