2-day workshop on communication skills, techniques organised

JAMMU, Feb 17: The Department of Life Long Learning of Government SPMR College of Commerce in collaboration with Center for Life Long Learning, University of Jammu, organized a 2-day workshop in Communication Skills and Techniques.
Principal SPMR College Prof. J.L. Bhagat, in his address on the valedictory function, asked the student community for availing the benefits of such workshops, saying that such occasions are beneficial to improve the presentations and communication skills. He said that such workshops would also be organized in future for the benefits of students. He urged upon the students to have an inquiring mind while attending such activities.
Convener, Unit of Life Long Learning Prof Archana Kaul presented the welcome address, while as Prof. Rashmi Arya conducted the sessions.
Resource Persons for the first day Dr. Reena Salaria and Gurdeep Kour, in technical sessions briefed the students about phonetics, speech and importance of listening.
Dr. Sarita Sood and Madhavi Sharma dwelt in detail about personality development, self -presentation and public interaction. They interacted with the students and answered the questions raised by the students.
In his valedictory note, Prof. Gopal Sharma appreciated the initiative taken by the Unit of Lifelong Learning for growth and development of the students.
Later, the Principal gave away certificates among the students who attended the workshop.
Prof. Rekha Gupta presented vote of thanks on the occasion.
Faculty members Prof. Kawaljeet, Prof Reeta Menia, Prof Sanjay Singh,   Prof. Ashu Manhas, Prof. Reena Bhagat and large number of students were also present during the sessions.
