JAMMU, Feb 17: Two employees of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) received injuries and a vehicle got damaged in stone pelting during anti-encroachment drive at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar.
As per police sources, a team from JMC headed by Commissioner Mandeep Kour started removing reharies and khokhas at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar during anti-encroachment drive.
Objecting the drive, the people assembled at the spot and started pelting stones on the JMC officials.
During stone pelting, two employees received injuries and a JCB vehicle got damaged.
On getting information, police team reached the spot. The team pacified the mob and controlled the situation from getting further deteriorated.
Later, on the complaint of Joint Commissioner JMC Jammu RS Jamwal, a case under FIR Number 49/16 under Section 353, 332, 147, 148 and 427 RPC has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station against the mob and investigation started.
