Carmel Convent organizes Marathon

JAMMU, Feb 20: Carmel Convent High School organized a race ‘Carmel Marathon’, here today.
Around 600 students from classes 4th to 9th were animated by Physical Teachers-Dheraj Jamwal and Nayna Bamotra.
The Marathon ‘Carmel Ki Daurh Naitikta Ki Aur’ was flagged off by Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu in presence of School Princiapl Sr Maria Suzette.
The runners were flagged off at 9 am, who after passing from Satyam Resorts, Marble Market and Greater Kailash Chowk came back to the School, thus covering a distance of around 5 kilometers.
The Marathon was organized to herald the message of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’.
The winners included Siya Mahajan of class 4th, Riya Gupta of Class 5th, Priya Momen of class 6th, Subandhita Majahan of class 7th and Deepakshi Gupta of class 9th.  Palak Saini of 4th B was declared the best athlete.
