J&K Bank disburses Rs 1.15 cr through 1107 KCCs

JAMMU, Sept 10: J&K Bank organised awareness cum credit camps at Akhnoor in order to give a boost to agriculture sector and to reach out to the growers of far flung areas.
Minister of Health, Floriculture & Horticulture Sham Lal Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.
Others present on the occasion were Vice-President Jammu (Central) Arvind Gupta, Cluster Head Vinay Sawhney, Head B.U Akhnoor and SDM Akhnoor along with Sarpanchs, panchs from the adjoining villages and a good number of beneficiaries of Kissan Credit Card.
The Minister distributed Kissan Credit Cards among 1107 beneficiaries involving an amount of Rs 1.5 crore on the occasion.
During the last two and half months 11,000 Kissan Credit Cards have been sanctioned against 13,000 application forms received in the zone and a total of 10,400 cards have been issued to the farmers.
The Minister stressed upon the audience to come forward and avail benefits of the Bank’s tailor made schemes for their overall economic development.
He asked the farmers at Akhnoor to diversify into horticulture and floriculture for better returns and constitute Farmer Clubs for better co-ordination with the bank.
Vice-President J&K Bank apprised the farmers about implementation and benefits of Kissan Credit Card and assured the participants that such awareness cum credit camps would be organized with same spirit in the whole Jammu zone in near future as per the guidelines of the Bank’s credit policy.
