Durga Nagar Welfare Committee highlights demands

JAMMU, Feb 21: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee in a meeting today held under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal  Raina its president discussed various demands of the residents of the area and urged the authorities to settle them immediately.
The meeting expressed grave concern over the worst condition of roads, lanes and drains, insanitation in the area, non availability of matadors etc. It said the roads in Durga Nagar have developed deep ditches and there is every apprehension of accidents. The meeting said that R&B Department had given assurance to the Committee that the two kms of road will be black topped in the area but till date no steps were taken in this regard.
The meeting in an appeal to Governor N N Vohra has sought his immediate intervention in the matter.
The meeting also urged the Commissioner JMC to have a visit of the area to assess the problems created due to insanitation there.  The meeting also demanded that three matadors be started from KC to Durga Nagar and two from Parade to Durga Nagar.
