JAMMU, Feb 21: National Mazdoor Conference today appealed Governor NN Vohra to formulate comprehensive policy for regularization of all daily rated workers engaged in various departments of the State Government.
Addressing a one day NMC workers meet here, NMC president, Subhash Shastri said that early formulating comprehensive policy is the need of the hour adding that such policy should be immediately implemented, so that new regularization policy becomes operational from Ist April 2016.
He said that these daily wagers are facing hardships due to price hike and inflation as their services have not been regularized so far nor they are getting their monthly wages in time.
Hailing the moves of Governor to expedite the process of regularization of eligible daily rated workers, Shastri expressed satisfaction that Governor rule is being accepted as a boon by common citizens.
Even though elected representatives are necessary in a democratic setup, still Governor moves to make administration more people friendly has given rise  to goodwill among the masses, he said. Shastri appealed Prime Minister not to rush in forming the popular Government in the State whatsoever and the Governor rule should continue.
While pleading the cause of the State Government employees and pensioners, Shastri demanded early release of 6% DA due from July last in favor of State Government employees and pensioners, respectively, in view of sharp increase of inflation and price hike.
Expressing his grave concern over the non-enforcement of CP Fund deduction in various Government departments, Shastri demanded strict enforcement of the scheme to protect the interest of working class and also demanded early payment of wages of daily wagers pending for months together in PWD, PHE, Irrigation and Flood control Department etc.
