Bovine smuggling bids foiled, 18 cattle rescued

RAMBAN, Feb 21: Police foiled two bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 18 cattle.
As per police sources, a team from Ramban police station laid a naka at Shan Palace on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02L-4624.
During checking, 10 bovines were rescued from the vehicle and the driver identified as Mushtaq Hussain, son of Lal Mohammad of District Poonch was arrested.
A case under FIR Number 30/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Ramban police station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Batote police station laid a naka at Baggu Nallah and intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02BL-1363.
On checking of the vehicle, 8 bovine animals were rescued, which were kept beneath vegetables. The driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot.
A case under FIR Number 12/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Batote and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramban Inspector Pardeep Sharma and SHO Batote Inspector Sameer Jeelani foiled the bovines smuggling bids under the supervision of SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
