JAMMU, Feb 21: Governor’s Advisor Parvez Dewan today said that Guru Ravi Dass ji spread the message of peace, equality and brotherhood among the masses.
Addressing a religious function organised here in connection with celebration of 639 Parkash Utsav of Guru Ravi Dass ji, the Advisor who was chief guest on the occasion, said the great Saint Ravi Dass ji spread the message of peace, and brotherhood and justice among the masses for the whole complete life and their famous couplet “Aisa Chaho Raaj Main Jahan Mile Sabhi ko Ann, Shooth Bade Sab Sang Basein Rahe Ravi Dass Parsann” still looms large in the minds of the people and the time has come where the teachings of Guru ji are required to be spread among the people so that the differences which are widening on the name of caste, creed, religion and other small things be removed altogether from the society and the people may live happily irrespective of these small differences.
Former Chief Secretary of the State BR Kundal, president Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Piran Ditta, State BSP president Tarsem Khullar, president Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra Rakesh Wazir; president Vishkarma Sabha Shashi Verma, president Bhagat Sabha Mohinder Amarnath and former State BSP chief Tulsi Dass Langeh were also present. A large number of people from all walks of life attended the function.
Piran Ditta while speaking on the occasion thanked the people for making celebrations of Guru Ravi Dass ji a grand success and said that coming out of the people in large number and that too, from all the walks of life reflects that the message of Guru ji is spreading in real spirit and further said that now different Shakha Sabhas will celebrate the birthday of Guru Ravi Dass ji in their respective areas for the coming whole complete month and likewise spread the message of their teachings.
The famous religious Sants including Sant Satwant Heera ji Maharaj, Sant Jagdish Giri ji Maharaj and Sant Viney Muni Ji Maharaj also enthralled the audience by speeches on the occasion.
